Weekly classes

Adult Classes

Our adult classes are all about building your confidence, making you fitter, healthier and stronger in a fun and relaxed environment.

Junior classes 10 to 15 years

Our junior classes are about building strong, healthy, confident and disciplined young men and women through a principles-based approach to teaching traditional and modern martial arts.

Children classes 3 to 10 years

Our Kids class is a space for students from 3 to 10 years old to grow, learn, play and explore martial arts, a natural progression of the principles established in our children's kick boxing classes.

When you register to become a member of the Foundation, you are doing much more than paying for a martial arts class. Working with membership allows us to do more for our students and families. We do not charge extra for qualification, evaluation or belts. We can limit the number of classes in our assigned sessions to ensure that each student receives the time and attention they deserve and that members also have priority booking and reduced-cost seats at our vacation camps. How does it work? Once you have booked and attended a free trial session in your chosen class, we will ask you to sign up for a membership. This means that you will pay a fixed amount monthly through recurring card payment. This payment covers any weekly class you choose to attend and all grades, belts, and certificates. Your membership pays for your space in your assigned class, not in specific classes, so we cannot offer refunds for missed classes. Waiting Lists We limit the number of students in our classes to ensure that all of our students get the best possible experience. This means that sometimes we will have a waiting list for places. If you have signed up for a place on the waiting list, we will save your details and contact you via email to offer you a free trial class as soon as a place is available. Payment Register and payments are managed securely online, we do not accept cash payments. We will send you a link to start your membership by email. We will not ask you to sign any contract and there is no cancellation period. Missed payments? If you miss a payment, our system will try to make the payment automatically 3 times. You will receive an email every time. If payment has not been made within a month, your membership will be paused and you will not be able to attend classes. Two weeks after this, your membership will be terminated. If you are having a difficult time and you know you are not going to make payments, please email us and we will see what we can do. We are here to be accessible and affordable. Cancellation You can cancel your membership at any time. This will stop any future payment attempts and delete all your data from the system. We will also remove all student data from our system in accordance with current data protection laws. This includes student progress, grade, and all medical and contact information.

The base at its core is the kazoku "family" and a martial family reflects the heart, mind and spirit of the martial form. This means that we are healthy, honest, respectful, appreciate the value of joy, and communicate with each other. Kazoku - Family.Kokoro - Heart, Mind and Spirit.Shojiki - Honesty Kenko - Health Yorokobi - Joy Sonkei - Respect Tsushin - CommunicationThe Doragon Foundation is built around these core values. We live for them, make our decisions for them, plan new projects with them, and use them in everything from daily communication to solving big problems. We share our values with our students through everything we teach and talk about. At the end of each year, we reward those students who we believe have truly incarnated and lived for each value with awards in Joy, Honesty, Respect, Communication, Health, Family and Heart, Mind and Spirit. We have a unique approach to scoring across all of our Foundation classes that has been refined and developed as we have grown. Our grading process allows us to recognize and reward progress where needed and support all of our students. For our Kids and Juniors students we monitor attendance and when they reach 20 consecutive classes we mark them for evaluation. Initial evaluations are based on grading criteria and the professional judgment of our instructors. We will observe and challenge students when necessary by testing their knowledge and application. If we believe a student is ready, we award their grade at the next available opportunity. As our Junior students move further into the advanced Junior grades, we ask them for more in terms of training time, discipline and responsibility. This transition helps them prepare for the more demanding aspects of becoming an Advanced Junior student. 8th Mon (Orange Belt) is also the first opportunity students will have to work on their Junior Junior Assistant - Fuku Shidōin (副 指導員) assessment. .Adult and advanced students have a more demanding grading process as our expectation increases. We have formal graduations on set dates throughout the year. This is a much more traditional process with advanced adult and youth students being assessed individually through a closed assessment in front of the instructors.
